This past autumn was jam-packed with a series of family and couples sessions to celebrate the absolutely beautiful weather that we had-oh boy was it b-e-a-utiful! It was also our first full season as an ‘official’ business! (YAY!)
This lovely lady by the name of Tianna contacted me via facebook as she was new to town and was wanting some photos of her lovely family as well as some for her business, we talked for quite some time and shared little bits about ourselves-she told me that she was a painter and, naturally, I asked to see her work. From the first glance at her instagram I was in complete awe of her rare talent-to say that she’s absolutely incredible is an understatement but then to learn that she only recently discovered that she could paint and that it came about by curiosity during a difficult time was mind-blowing! Guys-her work is incredible! You feel genuinely emotional while viewing them but to see them in person, each colour, each brush stroke up close-to see the love that has gone into each amazing piece leaves you speechless in the best emotion-provoking way. She is an amazing artist. Please go check her work out: Sacred Art By Tianna.
My favourite season used to be summer mainly because socks aren’t my friend buuut is slowly being knocked into second place by autumn because there aren’t any bugs but also because you still have a bit of warmth and a bit of crispness so you can have hot and cold drinks in the same day with zero guilt! But for real my favourite part is all of it-the warmth of the sun, the smell of the changing leaves on the wet ground, the smoky smell of wood-burning stoves and woodsiness of bonfires, no bugs in sight, the wonderful array of colours that just pop against a (sometimes) dreary sky, the sound of crunching leaves beneath your feet, the autumnal amber glow…and NO. BUGS (did I mention that already?).
This may very well be my personal favourite season for portraits as well-we did so many this past year of couples and families of all shapes and sizes and we are excited to see what this year brings, ESPECIALLY because we’ve got a wedding in the mountains in September and it is going to be da bomb!
What is your favourite time of year for photos? We’d love to hear from you!
